My boyfriend & I had been dying to go see Body Worlds Vital. Finally, after enjoying many beautiful days out in the sun, we decided to take a short trip on a cloudy day to Providence to see the exhibit. And let me tell you......it will change your views on health and your body. Completely worth the time and the money.
I think my favorite part about the exhibit was the fact that it was basically promoting living a healthy and active life. Throughout the entire exhibit there were posters on the wall that explained facts about weight, antioxidants, eating junk food, dementia, etc. And in every solution to each plaque it would stem right back to eating a healthy diet and living an active lifestyle (a simple yet powerful message).
Below is one of the posters that we saw.
I am still in awe at every model that they had on display. And the fact that we only saw part of the exhibit is even more unbelievable. I am in love with learning about the body, what makes it healthy, the parts of the body, how it functions, etc. (the reason I love physiology). Every model had information about a certain body part. It took me forever to even get past the first part of the exhibit because there was so much reading...which I loved :)
Like my boyfriend says...I'm just a big ole nerd.
I won't go into more detail so I don't spoil it for you all. But! I will mention one more thing.
At the very end of the exhibit, there were pictures of families from different countries and the food they consumed in a week. It even broke own how much they spent on the food in a weeks time. The funny thing about this is...every single family no matter where they were from had junk food on the table. Obviously some countries are more health conscious than others. For example, the family from India had a plethora of fresh fruits & veggies on their table versus the American family who only had a head of lettuce or two.
This exhibit definitely changes how you look at food and your health, both physical and mentally. Go check it out when it comes to a center near you. So worth it :D
Have a happy labor day everyone! And good luck to all of those going back to school! Study hard :)
